The Woman on the Waterfront Monument (WOW for short) is a project to develop a monument to commemorate the efforts and sacrifices of Halifax women during the Second World War. The monument will live along the beautiful Halifax waterfront next to the Seaport Farmer's Market and the scenic boardwalk.

The project was started by the Halifax Women's History Society as they felt there was a need to call attention to the historically over-looked contributions of women throughout the history of Halifax. The HWHS put out a call for proposals for local women artists to submit ideas for the Women on the Waterfront Monument and required a website where the invited artists could download the Request for Proposals and provide information on the project to the public.

The WOW Monument site is a simple one page scrolling website built in wordpress. The site features sections providing information on the HWHS mission statement, the project theme, inspirational imagery for the artists, a list of the HWHS committee and most importantly a link to the RFP document, which I also did for them.
