The core concept of the branding is design versus illustration and emphasizing the duality of my skills.
There were three values I wanted my brand to convey: motivated, reliable, and determined. This lead me to choosing a tall, bold font. However, I still wanted to have a mark that reflected my passion for illustration, which was accomplished through manipulating the typeface to resemble my signature.
In addition to developing a letterhead for cover letters and resumes, I designed a business card with two backs, one for design work and one for illustration work.
I also sell my original illustrative work at comic festivals and conventions in my free time, so I designed my own banner and a small poster of my commission prices for display on exhibition tables.
